Privacy policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
Nicolas Balkhausen (ABN 18 843 622 574) runs this website. This policy explains what we collect and why. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, used to sign you in and send receipts.
- Uploads: the auction sheet images or PDFs you upload, and the price and destination country you enter.
- Reports: the structured data and translation we produce from your sheet.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, the amount and your email, never your full card number.
- Mailing list: your email if you join updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Importer quote requests: if you ask for an importer to quote a car, the name, email and phone number (if given) you enter, and the date and wording of the consent you gave.
- Import alerts: if you ask us to email you when a car can be imported, your email address, the model, build year (and month, if you give it) and destination country you chose, the page you signed up on, and when you signed up.
- Usage data: basic, privacy-friendly analytics about page views and performance.
How we use it
- To produce your reports, run your account and take payments.
- To check and improve how accurately we read sheets. For this we may look at uploaded sheets and the reports made from them, but not your account or payment details.
- To email you about your account and purchases, and about updates if you joined the mailing list.
- To send the one import alert you asked for: a single email when, by our dates, the car you named becomes old enough for your country's age rule. We don't use your alert email for marketing or add it to the mailing list, and we don't share it with partner importers. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link; using it stops all import alerts to that address.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded sheet images are deleted automatically 90 days after upload, wherever they are stored. After that, your report stays in your account but the original image is no longer shown.
- Reports and account details are kept while your account is open. Ask us and we will delete your account and reports.
- Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.
- Importer quote requests are kept for 2 years after you make them, so we can show what you agreed to, then deleted. Ask us and we will delete one sooner.
- Import alerts are kept until the alert is sent or you unsubscribe, then deleted 12 months later. You can ask us to delete one sooner.
Who processes it for us
We use service providers who may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States:
- Microsoft Azure (Australia East region): stores uploaded sheet images and runs the system that reads them.
- Supabase: database and sign-in, and file storage for some uploads.
- Vercel: website hosting and analytics.
- Anthropic: the AI model that reads your sheet. Sheet images are sent to it only to produce your report.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend, our email provider, to send sign-in links, receipts and import alerts. Resend processes email addresses and message content in the United States.
We do not sell or share your personal information, except when you ask us to send a quote request to a partner importer, as described below.
Sharing with partner importers
If you ask for a licensed importer to quote a car and tick the consent box, we send your request to one partner importer in your country (Australia or New Zealand), chosen by us. They receive your name, email and phone number (if you gave one), the car's details from your report (make, model, year, chassis code, auction grade, mileage, colour, transmission and the auction price you entered) and the report's landed-cost estimate. They do not receive your sheet photo, your other reports or any payment details.
The importer may pay us for the introduction. They use your details to contact you about that car, under their own privacy policy. We only share your details this way when you ask us to, and never by default.
You can withdraw a request at any time by emailing hello@kensa-ya.com. If we have not yet sent it, we will not send it; if we have, we will ask the importer to delete your details.
Partner links
Reports may show links to businesses that help after you buy, such as compliance workshops, shipping agents, insurers and lenders. We may be paid if you use them. The links tell the business that you came from Kensa-ya, but do not pass on any of your details or your report.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or complain about how we handled it, by emailing hello@kensa-ya.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Sheet content
Auction sheets can show a lot number, auction date and vehicle identifiers. They do not normally contain personal information about you. Please do not upload documents that contain other people's personal details.
